The cross-sell option allows you to offer additional, complementary products to customers after they complete a transaction—on the Thank you page and in the confirmation email.
Simply indicate which product you want to promote as a cross-sell, and we will automatically display it to the customer after purchase.
If the customer decides to take advantage of the cross-sell option, they can complete the transaction with one click on the Thank you page.
In Easycart, we show cross-sell options to customers only after the purchase because displaying related offers in the checkout can lower conversion rates. According to a Baymard study, 66% of Amazon shoppers who had to go through an additional step with a cross-sell offer before completing the transaction experienced extreme frustration.
To add a cross-sell option:
- Go to Add-ons ➔ Cross-sell
- Click New cross-sell
- Select the product you want to offer as a cross-sell
- Add a description and special offer (optional)
- Click Save
Adding a numerical or percentage discount to the cross-sell option significantly increases the conversion rate. The special offer will be available only for 15 minutes or an hour after the initial transaction.
And if you use your own thank you pages, the cross-sell will still work, but the offer will only appear in the confirmation email and will be valid for 60 minutes.
